DSE Landscape contractors deliver premium landscaping in Homebush, covering everything from initial design through to construction and ongoing care.

We’re a landscape construction company rather than a garden maintenance service, so the paving, walls, pools and planting are all designed and built by one team.

Every project starts with a free consultation on site, where we look at your block, listen to how you want to use it, and work out what’s realistic within your budget. Let’s talk — contact us today for a free consultation.

Our Landscaping Services in Homebush

Landscape design and consultation

We assess your block, listen to your ideas, and produce a design that suits your home, your lifestyle and your budget.

Paving

Hard-wearing surfaces laid on properly prepared bases, so they don’t sink or shift on Homebush’s clay soil.

Concrete driveways

Durable driveways built to handle daily wear and Sydney weather.

Stonework and masonry

Sandstone steps, boundary walls, seating and feature work, built to last.

Plant and turf laying

Soil improvement first, then planting and turf matched to local conditions rather than whatever’s cheapest.

Swimming pool renovation

Resurfacing, coping, paving and planting that make the pool part of the garden rather than a fenced-off box.

Decking and pergolas

Shade and outdoor rooms that extend your living space through summer.

Garden irrigation installation

Watering systems sized to your planting, so the garden looks after itself.

Excavation and water tanks

Site preparation, level changes and rainwater storage handled in-house.

Landscaping for Homebush Properties

Homebush blocks come with a few specific challenges, and getting them wrong is expensive to fix later.

Clay soil and drainage. Homebush sits on shale-derived clay. It holds water after rain, then cracks and sets hard through summer. Turf laid straight onto untreated clay yellows within a season, and garden beds drown.

We improve the soil profile and install subsurface drainage before anything goes into the ground. The suburb also sits in the Powells Creek catchment, where overland flow across yards is common in heavy rain, so we plan levels and falls to move water away from the house rather than towards it.

Smaller blocks and rising density. Land north of Homebush Station was rezoned in late 2024 under the NSW Transport Oriented Development program, bringing taller buildings and more townhouses to the area.

For nearby homeowners that means two things — compact yards and courtyards that need to work harder, and growing demand for privacy screening, hedging and boundary treatments as neighbouring blocks are redeveloped.

Landscaped area requirements. Strathfield Council sets a minimum landscaped area for residential properties, calculated on deep soil gardens, trees and turf only.

Driveways, manoeuvring areas, pools and narrow side setbacks under 1.5 metres don’t count towards it, so paving a whole backyard can put you in breach without realising. We design to control from the start.

Pool Renovations and Surrounds

An ageing pool drags down the whole backyard. We handle the full renovation — resurfacing, new coping and tiling, surrounding paving, fencing lines, planting and lighting — so the finished space reads as one design rather than a pool with a fence around it.

Because we manage the landscaping alongside the pool works, level changes, drainage and site access are sorted before the first machine arrives. On Homebush’s clay that matters, since poor drainage around a pool surround shows up quickly in lifting pavers and waterlogged garden beds.

Why Homeowners Choose DSE Landscapes

Where we work

Our Homebush team works right across the surrounding inner west, including Strathfield, North Strathfield, Homebush West and Homebush Bay. We’re also regularly on site in Concord, Burwood, Newington, Sydney Olympic Park, Flemington and Lidcombe, so if you’re anywhere in this pocket we can usually get out for a consultation quickly.

We work across the rest of Sydney too, from the Sutherland Shire through to the eastern suburbs — landscaping in Randwick, Kensington, Kingsford, Maroubra and the surrounding beachside suburbs.
